After getting an amazing response from the smaller hand written home quote prints from the feature of my home on Design Sponge several people wanted a larger option with this quote. So here it is. Was really fun to contribute to the MomentUS Project. For those who have not seen the project hop on over there! MomentUS is a project where designers and illustrators were asked to visualize some of America's most defining moments. I was asked to remember the 2000 Presidential Election. Below is my final piece and how I arrived there. Icons surrounding George Bush include Iraq, refrence to his father George Sr and the Texas Rangers. On the Gore side refrence to Bill Clinton's infamous cigar, Gore inventing the internet and the popular vote not really counting for much in 2000. I collected lots of research on both men and the event prior to getting going. Not to mention lots of thumbnails and pencil sketches for various concepts. The 3rd of 4 posters and illustrations for Conan O'brien's summer concert series. This for KT Tunstall shows our man Conan riding a top of horse which is of course a refrence to Tunstall's hit song Black horse and a cherry tree. Really excited to share the 2nd of 4 summer concert posters for my friends at Conan O'brien/Team Coco. Such an honor to work with just great people. The poster here for Edward Sharpe references his home town and the town Conan calls home Los Angeles. Many of Edward Sharpe's song's like "Home" and "Desert" can visibly be seen on the poster as icons also. Each of the 4 posters loosely line up to create a larger scene as you can see with the previous Ke$ha poster. The poster is 18x24, 4 colors each signed and numbered by me. Pick one up here.
